The official trailer of Jensen’s new animated movie, Justice League: Warworld, in which he gives voice to Batman/Bruce Wayne was released. The movie will be released on digital platforms July 25 and on DVD/Blu-ray July 24.
Jensen will give voice to Batman/Bruce Wayne for the fourth time in a DC Comics‘s animated movie. After Legion of Super-Heroes, which was released last Feburary, the next movie is called Justice League: Warworld. The animated movie Justice League: Warworld, which counts with Stana Katic as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince and Darren Criss as Superman/Agent Kent, should premiere this Summer.
You can find below the official synopsis of Justice League: Warworld and the trailer of his previous animated movie, Legion of Super-Heroes.
Until now, the Justice League has been a loose association of superpowered individuals. But when they are swept away to Warworld, a place of unending brutal gladiatorial combat, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the others must somehow unite to form an unbeatable resistance able to lead an entire planet to freedom.
As we announced a few months back, Jensen has a new animated movie where he gives voice to Batman: Legion of Super-Heroes.
The premiere date of the movie was now revealed as well as a video of a scene of the movie where Batman and Super-Man get together. The movie is out February 7 on digital platforms and Blu-ray.
Jensen’s new voice project was confirmed: an animated movie called Legion of Super-Heroes that will gather several super-heroes from the DC world. Jensen will give voice, once again, to Batman in this movie that premieres next year. The cast counts with Meg Donnelly as Supergirl/Kara, Harry Shum Jr. as Brainaic 5, Darren Criss as Superman and Matt Bomer as The Flash.
The story picks up as Kara, devastated by the loss of Krypton, struggles to adjust to her new life on Earth. Her cousin, Superman, mentors her and suggests she leave their space-time to attend the Legion Academy in the 31st century, where she makes new friends and a new enemy: Braniac 5. Meanwhile, she must contend with a mysterious group called the Dark Circle as it searches for a powerful weapon held in the Academy’s vault.
Jensen was yesterday at Denver convention, the first convention in person since the beginning of the pandemic. The day of Jensen’s panel is usually on Sunday but due to the filming of his new movie Rust, Jensen only could join on Saturday. You can find below the videos of the two panels, one solo panel and one panel with Jared, which were made available by a fan. We also summarize some of the highlights of the day.
The Boys: It was difficult for Jensen to give a different voice to Soldier Boy. He will have a radio voice. Soldier Boy’s suit is not very confortable, it was the least favorite thing of the character for him.
Rust: Jensen dreams about doing a western since he was 6 years old. He was not the first choice for the role and so it was a last time proposal. When he was back from filming The Boys, he received a call from his manager talking about the role. Then, he did a call with the director and Alec Baldwin who presented him the role and asked if he was interested.
Voice projects: He recorded a new Batman movie while he was in Toronto.
Supernatural: The scene when Dean dies was very difficult to film for the Supernatural crew. They only filmed it twice and they needed to control very well their emotions. It was Jensen who suggested that Dean died standing. The original plan for the last scene of the show was that they would go inside a roadhouse where Kansas band would be playing Carry On My Wayward Son.
Família: He spoke about how it was difficult to be way from this panel during the filming of The Boys.
Dance: Jensen danced a bit after a fan asked, mainly one famous song from Tiktok, Applebee.
Jensen recorded Bruce Wayne and Batman’s voices for the animated movie Batman: The Long Halloween 3 years ago already but, only now, after the movie was released we have the chance to see a photo of the recordings in studio. Jensen recorded the voices at Chez Boom Audio in Austin while being directed by Wes Gleason from Los Angeles.
The publicist Gary Miereanu also shared that the movie will be released as one in 2022, since for now it was released divided in two parts, and by then they will release more content from behind the scenes.
You can watch below the panel of Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two at Comic Con@Home which Jensen attended to and was released yesterday, July 23. The video was recorded a while ago, in the same day as the interview to Entertainment Weekly about part 1 of the movie.
Some new clips of the movie have also been released:
Jensen did a post on his Instagram promoting his new animated movie Batman: The Long Halloween Part One, which is available on digital platforms since last month.
@jensenackles: “Wondering what to watch… how bout this?!?! #batmanlonghalloween”
New photos and videos of the movie and of the second part of the movie, which airs at the end of this month, were released. Don’t miss the Comic Con panel where Jensen will talk about it!
This year’s San Diego Comic Con will not be happening in person, due to the pandemic, but online panels will be promoted in the so called Comic-Con@Home. Jensen’s participation was confirmed for a panel about the animated movie Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two.
The first part of the movie is already available on digital platforms and on Blu-ray. The panel, which is scheduled to July 23 at 3PM, aims to promote the second part of the movie which arrives July 27 on digital and August 10 on Blu-ray.
The panel will be free and streamed online for everyone. More information will be gived closer to the date.
The first part of the animated movie where Jensen gives voice to Batman/Bruce Wayne, Batman: The Long Halloween, premieres next week, on June 22, and a new interview about the movie was now released. The interview got together Jensen, Julie Nathanson (who gave voice to Gilda Dent), the writer-producer Tim Sheridan and the supervising producer Butch Lukic.
“I come from a previous film where I voiced Red Hood,” Ackles says. “So when I got the call for this, I assumed I would be reprising that role into whatever story these guys were adapting. But then I realized I’d gotten the upgrade! I don’t think they even got the whole word ‘Batman’ out. They were like, ‘Bat-‘ and I was like, yes!”
When it comes to the Halloween getup, Ackles admits, “I couldn’t help myself.”
But it also came together organically. “I had this wonderful crew person I was working with who hand-made costumes and cosplay stuff,” Ackles says. “She didn’t even know. She did a Red Hood version for me. She was like, ‘I’m gonna do a Batman, would you be my mannequin?’ And inside I was like, ‘If you only knew!'”
Some movie reviews have also been published by those who have seen the movie already, in which they praise Jensen’s performance:
It’s the voice cast that really makes this adaptation of The Long Halloween stand out, though. After playing Red Hood over a decade ago, Jensen Ackles brings Bruce Wayne and Batman to life in a way that makes us feel this is a role he should have been given the chance to take a shot at long before now. Just like the Supernatural alum once made Jason Todd his own, it’s easy to imagine DC fans being unwilling to accept anyone other than Ackles as the DC Animated Universe’s Caped Crusader after this movie. He’s that good.
