More interviews in articles and videos while promoting The Boys season 3 were released. The most recent promotion happened in Beverly Hills yesterday. Two photos of the cast were released and Jensen posted a video recording the billboards with The Boys advertising while he was passing by car. Filming of The Boys comes to an end with new photos and videos
The filming of The Boys‘ season 3 wrapped yesterday, September 10th, one year after the filming Supernatural ended. Jensen posted a video on his Instagram telling this curious fact. In the last days, new The Boys-related content was published and you can find it below. It includes new photos of Jensen on the set of the show and with crew members, and a video Jensen recorded for a fan.
Eric Kripke talks again about casting Jensen and new magazine cover featuring The Boys
Eric Kripke, Supernatural and The Boys creator, gave a new interview, this time to Vanity Fair, about season 3 of The Boys and he talked again about casting Jensen. The way the opportunity happened and Jensen was chosen for the role of Soldier Boy had already been mentioned in previous interviews but he gave now new details about the character.
Would you have a concise way to describe Season 3?
Season 3 delves a lot more into the history of how we got here through this character of Soldier Boy. We were able to dig into both the history of the country and also really look at toxic masculinity, and masculine roles, and what a shit-show that’s overall caused. This whole fucking, independent Marlboro man thing.
I know you’ve talked a bit already about working with [Supernatural star] Jensen Ackles again and what it’s like to put Jensen in this part. Did you decide you wanted to do Soldier Boy and then were like: aha, Jensen! Or Jensen’s suddenly free, and you’re like, now it’s time to do the Soldier Boy season?
We had written Soldier Boy long before I cast Jensen. The majority of the guys we were looking at for that part were actually quite older than Jensen. Because it’s a World War II hero. But it’s so funny how these things sometimes happen. Jensen called me and I’m not on the show anymore but we keep in touch and text every so often. But he happened to call me and we were just chatting and I’m like well I’m prepping Season 3 of the show, and I have this character Soldier Boy, and it was a real pain in the to cast, and I haven’t really found anyone. Hey, wait a minute, do you want to do it? I sent him the script, and he’s like, oh my God, I totally want to do this. Less than a week later, he was cast. He just happened to call that day, is one of the big reasons he got that part.

TV Guide Magazine is launching a new special edition of the magazine, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, next month and one of the covers is dedicated to The Boys and has Jensen in it (in a small scale). The magazine can be ordered here and will be available on newsstands September 14.
Eric Kripke comments The Boys’ Emmys nominations and first scene of Jensen
The streaming series The Boys has received 5 nominations for Emmy Awards, one of the most important awards cerimonies for television. The main nomination was “Outstanding Drama Series” for its season 2 and the remaining nominations were in technical categories (music, visual effects and writing). The show’s creator, Eric Kripke, commented the nominations they received and he also talked about his experience of working again with Jensen, sharing some new spoilers of the first scenes of Soldier Boy. Jensen also left some congratulations messages for the nominations.

Kripke talks about Jensen and Soldier Boy’s personality
Eric Kripke has been giving a lot of interviews due to season 2 finale of The Boys and talking about Jensen’s role. Besides the ones we have already posted, Kripke talked now about the type of personality of Soldier Boy.
“Anyone tuning in to see Dean Winchester is not going to get Dean Winchester,” Kripke laughed.
“Jensen is an amazing actor and an even better person and obviously we’re very close and I think I have as good an idea as anybody of what that guy can do,” Kripke said, of his decision to onboard Ackles into the crazy, warped world of The Boys.
“I’m constantly impressed because he can handle comedy, drama, action, and romance,” he added. “So he felt like the perfect choice for a guy, Soldier Boy, who’s really charismatic, who’s really been a fixture of American culture for decades. But of course, the show being the show, there’s darker stuff on the inside. And the other thing I think Jensen and I are excited about, beyond the ability for him to swear a lot, is presenting a different role for him. It’s a very different character and he has a lot of darkness in him but he’s also still charming and funny. I think people will be surprised and will love it.”
